Glossary

Key terms and concepts used on Peakd.

Aspect

A specific dimension an entity can be rated on (e.g. 'Ease of Use', 'Safety', 'Performance'). Aspects allow granular per-attribute ratings rather than a single overall score.

Category

A sub-grouping within a domain. For example, 'AI & Machine Learning' is a category within the Digital domain. Entities can belong to multiple categories.

Claim

The process of proving you represent an entity listed on Peakd. Verification can be done via email domain, DNS TXT record, or website meta tag.

Community Reputation

Ratings that other users give you on 5 aspects: Content Quality, Helpfulness, Accuracy, Detail, and Expertise. Appears on your public profile.

Entity

Any item that can be rated on Peakd — a product, company, country, service, or event. Each entity has its own page with ratings, aspects, discussion, and history.

Overall Score

The trust-weighted average of all votes an entity has received, displayed as a value out of 10. This is the number shown on entity cards and pages.

Peak History

A chart showing an entity's global rank position over time. Lower position = better (closer to #1).

Peak Points

Points earned by contributing to the platform. Voting, commenting, and submitting entities all earn points which increase your trust score over time.

Quick Import

A feature on the submission page that lets you paste a URL to auto-fill entity details (name, description, images, links). Limited to 10 imports per day per user to manage server load.

Rating History

A chart showing how an entity's average rating has changed over time. Recorded daily, based on all community votes.

Slider

The 1-10 rating input used throughout Peakd. Color-coded: red (1-3), yellow (4-6), teal (7-8), gold (9-10). Allows precise expression of opinion.

Sources

Citations attached to an entity indicating where the information came from (e.g. Wikipedia, official site). Separate from links.

Trust Score

A measure of how experienced and reliable a contributor is. Grows as you vote, comment, and submit. Higher trust = your votes carry more weight in the ranking algorithm.

Verified Page

An entity page that has been claimed and verified by its owner (company, person, or representative). Shown with a verified badge and grants access to analytics and official responses.
