Agua Caliente Solar Project is a utility-scale photovoltaic plant located in Yuma County, Arizona, that generates clean energy through the use of thin-film cadmium-telluride solar modules. The project was financed with a $967 million loan guarantee from the Department of Energy and reached full commercial operations in April 2014. It has an annual generation capacity of 559,000 MWh and prevents approximately 312,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
