The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is a suspension bridge located in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. It spans the Akashi Strait, connecting the city of Kobe on Honshu to Awaji Island. The bridge has a total length of approximately 3,911 meters and is one of the longest suspension bridges in the world. Completed in 1998, it was designed to improve transportation links between the two regions.
