AlphaCode

AlphaCode is a computer program that uses transformer-based language models to generate code at an unprecedented scale, and then filters to a small set of promising programs. It has been demonstrated to achieve a competitive level of performance in programming competitions by solving new problems that require critical thinking, logic, algorithms, coding, and natural language understanding. AlphaCode was developed as part of research efforts to advance problem-solving capabilities in artificial intelligence. The system's performance was validated using competitions hosted on Codeforces, where it placed at about the median competitor level.
