Animal Crossing Plaza was a social networking service developed by Nintendo for the Wii U console. It allowed users to interact with each other, share content, and participate in polls. The app was released in August 2013 as a companion to Animal Crossing: New Leaf and was available for free from the Nintendo eShop. Although it was discontinued in December 2014, users who previously downloaded the app could still access its features until Miiverse was shut down in November 2017.
