Brown Widow Spider (Latrodectus geometricus)

The Brown Widow Spider (Latrodectus geometricus) is a cosmopolitan tropical and subtropical spider native to Africa, but introduced to various regions including Southern California, Hawaii, Florida, and parts of Australia. It is characterized by its mottled tan and brown coloration with black accent markings, and distinctive egg sacs that resemble pollen grains or harbor mines. Brown Widow Spiders are prolific breeders, producing multiple egg sacs in their lifetime.
