Carbonado is a software library that provides a relational view to underlying persistence technology for Java applications. It supports persistence through JDBC-accessible SQL relational databases or Berkeley DB, and can replicate data between the two. Carbonado types are defined as interfaces or abstract classes following Java bean conventions, with additional information specified by annotations. The library auto-generates performance-critical code using the Cojen library to achieve low overhead when accessing storage.
