Cinema Paradiso is a 1988 Italian drama film directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, set in an Italian village during the 1940s. The film tells the story of a young boy named Salvatore who falls in love with the movies and becomes friends with the projectionist, Alfredo. Thirty years later, Salvatore returns to his hometown and discovers a secret that changes his life forever. Cinema Paradiso won several awards, including the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1990.
