Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is a coral reef system in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland, Australia. It is composed of more than 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands spanning over 2,300 kilometers. The reef is home to a diverse array of marine life, including over 1,500 species of fish, 600 species of coral, and many other creatures. The Great Barrier Reef is considered one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems on the planet.
