Love Canal's Hooker Chemicals Plant is a former industrial waste disposal site located in Niagara Falls, New York. It was used as a dumping ground for toxic chemicals from 1942 to 1953, resulting in severe health problems and environmental contamination. The site became notorious after multiple congressional investigations exposed the extent of the damage, leading to the creation of the Superfund Program to clean up hazardous waste sites across the United States.
