OpenWeatherMap is a product that provides an Application Programming Interface (API) for retrieving weather and air quality data. It offers two modes: One Call API 3.0, which requires a subscription, and Free services, which require registration but no subscription. The API can be used to integrate with home automation systems, such as Home Assistant, to provide current and forecasted weather conditions, as well as air pollution levels.
