Poulton & Wyre Railway Society is a non-profit organization formed in 2006 to advocate for the reopening of the railway between Poulton-le-Fylde and Fleetwood. The society aims to develop a Heritage Railway Centre with a museum, offices, workshops, and test track to display its collection of restored historical rolling stock and equipment. It has a large membership committed to the cause and welcomes new members.
