The Search and Rescue Association is a non-governmental organization that provides search and rescue services in Turkey. It was founded by a group of pioneering mountaineers after a failed rescue operation in the Bolkar Mountains in 1994. The association has an organizational structure that allows it to react quickly to emergency situations, and it has been recognized by the United Nations International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) as a leading search and rescue team. With over 200 permanent members and 2,000 volunteer members, the association operates in 32 provinces across Turkey and provides training, drills, and cooperation with local and international institutions.
