Skull and Keys

Skull and Keys was a secret men's honor society founded in 1892 by fraternity members at the University of California, Berkeley. It was modeled after Yale's Skull and Bones and emphasized exclusivity and tradition through weekly meetings, initiation rites, and revelry. The society was notorious for disruptive behavior, including racist and anti-Semitic incidents, which led to repeated bans by UC Berkeley authorities and ultimately resulted in its shutdown in 1980.
