The Soyuz-FG is a Russian launch vehicle that represents the fifth generation of the Soyuz rocket family, introduced in 2001. It features modified main engines on the first and second stages, which improve fuel and oxidizer mixing and reduce high-frequency vibrations. The Soyuz-FG has a higher payload capacity than its predecessor, the Soyuz-U, and was used to carry cosmonauts into orbit as well as cargo ships such as Progress.
