The TAPI Pipeline is a planned 1,814km long trans-country natural gas pipeline that will transport gas from the Galkynysh gas field in Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. The pipeline was conceived in the 1990s and is expected to commence operations in 2021, transporting 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year. The project involves a consortium led by Turkmengaz, with shareholders from each of the four countries involved.
