Valdivian Rainforests of Chile

The Valdivian Rainforests of Chile is a protected area established by The Nature Conservancy, covering approximately 50,000 hectares of forests, rivers, and ecosystems essential for local communities. It safeguards one of the world's last large swathes of temperate rainforest, avoiding over 500,000 tons of carbon emissions. The reserve was created in 2005 through a collaborative conservation effort with Indigenous tribes and international organizations.
