The Very Large Telescope (VLT) is an astronomical facility located at the Paranal Observatory in Chile, consisting of four separate 8.2-meter diameter telescopes and four movable Auxiliary Telescopes. The VLT can achieve an angular resolution of around 1 milliarcsecond through interferometric mode, allowing for high-resolution observations of celestial objects. Each telescope has been named after astronomical objects in the Mapuche language.
