The Very Large Telescope (VLT) is an array of four Unit Telescopes with main mirrors of 8.2m diameter, located at the Paranal Observatory in Chile. It can work together as a single interferometer or individually to observe celestial objects. The VLT has a high sensitivity, allowing it to detect objects as faint as magnitude 30 in a one-hour exposure.
