XLispStat is a statistical computing environment that provides a framework for exploring dynamic graphical methods in data analysis, instruction, and research. It is based on the Lisp language and extends standard arithmetic operations to perform element-wise operations on lists and vectors. The system includes a portable window system interface for dynamic graphics and a prototype-based object-oriented programming system for implementing the graphics system and statistical model representations.
